Image from the 1800s

Cathy Aylstock posted this on the Fairfield Facebook page in 2023.

Fairfield, circa 1910 - Buckley family at home in Fairfield Township, Franklin County.
Minnie (initials M. K. C.), the postcard sender, identifies her 91-year-old grandmother in the doorway of her great grandmother's homestead, built in 1829. Also mentioned are her mother and Uncle John.
Research of the 1910 Census uncovered the following match in Fairfield Township:
John T Buckley, age 47, head of household, single
Kathryne Buckley, 91, mother, widowed (born in Ohio about 1819)
Maria J Coleman, age ?, sister
Minnie K Coleman, age 21, niece, single
According to an 1882 map of Fairfield Township in Franklin County, the Buckley home was located in section 29 of that township. Naoli Catherine DeMoss, who outlived all but 3 of her 11 children, lived in this house for 77 years before moving to a new home in 1915. Her son John was known throughout Indiana for his ship or airplane in-a-bottle creations.
